Why do we need Yin Yoga?
When we ask ourselves this question, we must question the factors that influence our state of equilibrium:
- The nature of our work
- A realistic approach to work – life balance
- Prioritizing physical, mental and emotional health
- Structuring a routine to achieve health and well-being
The above factors also apply to our yoga practice.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga practice is a cooling yoga practice.
Yin is equivalent to the cooling nature of the Moon.
Yang is equivalent to the heating nature of the Sun.
Hatha = Ha + Tha
Ha is the heating nature of the Sun which is Yang.
Tha is the cooling nature of the Moon which is Yin.
In essence, we are practicing the cooling element of the Hatha yoga practice.
